Inside Robert D. Ray's Extraordinary Humanitarian Legacy

July 10, 2018 Amb. Kenneth Quinn

Ambassador Quinn writes about Governor Ray's humanitarian efforts after his passing in 2018. He begins the article telling of Pope John Paul II's passing and how when he heard Iowa, immediately recognized it for its farms and refugees all because of the efforts made by Governor Robert D. Ray. He continues to write about three stories concerning Governor Ray and his humanitarian efforts; welcoming the Tai Dam, a safe port for the boat people, Ray in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime, and his work with refugees in Iowa.
