2010 World Food Prize Laureate Award Ceremony

October 14, 2010 Amb. Kenneth Quinn

In 2010, Ambassador Quinn served as Master of Ceremonies for the Laureate Award Ceremony at the Iowa State Capitol, during which Reverend David Beckman and Jo Luck were presented the World Food Prize for their leadership of global NGO programs. Iowa Governor Chet Culver and World Food Prize Selection Committee Chair, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, joined John Ruan III in presenting the award sculptures. A special highlight of the event was Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announcing the creation of the Wallace-Carver Fellows Program, which would provide opportunities for college-age alumni of World Food Prize Education Programs to serve summer internships at USDA Facilities.
