2016 Saskawa Event in Kenya

In 2016, Ambassador Quinn took part in a special program organized by the Sasakawa Association celebrating its 30 years of work in Africa. Dr. Norman Borlaug had been part of the first visit by the Sasakawa family to Africa in 1986 and had served as President of the Sasakawa Africa Association for many years. During the trip, Ambassador Quinn also visited the campus of the International Livestock Research Institute, just outside Nairobi, and to visit with distinguished leaders such as, Dr. Akin Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank, and Professor Ruth Oniang'o of the SAA.
