The Installation of the Bust of Ambassador Quinn in the Iowa Gallery

September 7, 2017 Amb. Kenneth Quinn

John Ruan III, Chairman of the World Food Prize Foundation, commissioned the creation of a bust of Ambassador Quinn as a special tribute to his leadership of the World Food Prize. The bust was created by the artist Ben Victor, who also created the statue of Dr. Norman Borlaug that was placed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. The physical installation of the bust in the Iowa Gallery of the Hall of Laureates included Ambassador Quinn and others placing mementos in the base of the bust. The Iowa Gallery was subsequently renamed the "Ambassador Kenneth Quinn Iowa Gallery" in October 2019, as Ambassador Quinn was retiring after 20 years of leading the World Food Prize.
