In October 2019, Ambassador Quinn presides at the annual presentation of the Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application, referred to as the "Borlaug Field Award." Endowed by a $1 million grant by the Rockefeller Foundation, this annual $10,000 award is presented to an individual under the age of 40 who has displayed Borlaug-like dedication in working directly with farmers and producers "in the field." The 2019 recipient from Cornell University was Halle Ann Tufan. Joining in the presentation of the award was Roy Steiner, Senior Vice President of the Rockefeller Foundation and Ellen Franzenburg fo the World Food Prize Staff.
