A Chat with a Cambodian Woman in My Childhood Home on the Possibilities of America

168/6/99

Amb. Quinn tells of the time he and his family visited his childhood home in the Bronx. When they arrive, his children aren’t sure that they should go in, but Amb. Quinn ran up and knocked on the front door. An Asian woman answered, and after chatting let Amb. Quinn and his family tour the building. Amb. Quinn proceeded to ask the woman where she was from. He then heard what sounded like people rushing out the backdoor and realized it might appear as if he is an immigration officer. After he reassured the woman that he was not with immigration services, they began talking about Cambodia. This led to Amb. Quinn thinking about the different possibilities that America can provide for both citizens and immigrants.
