Dreams of High School Basketball Championships in Illinois Come True in the Philippines

Amb. Quinn describes his passion for basketball that developed when he was in grade school and high school while he was in Illinois and Iowa that never were fulfilled, were played out 30 years later when he was recruited to play on the basketball team organized by the motor pool in the U.S. Embassy Manila employee’s league. While his jump shot never quite returned to high school form, as the team coach he took them to the championship game and a moment of possible glory that he had imagined in his high school dreams.
