Over the course of his career, Amb. Quinn has encountered numerous life-threatening moments. One day in 1992 while Amb. Quinn was working at the State Department as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, he began to feel the symptoms of a medical emergency. He falls back into his chair and slowly sinks onto the floor as his vision starts to become hazy and fade. Amb. Quinn is then rushed down the halls of the State Department in a wheelchair on his way to the hospital.
