Protecting the Prime Minister’s Children Starts a Long Relationship

Amb. Quinn describes the relationship that he has with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen. When Amb. Quinn was newly appointed to Cambodia, Hun Sen sent one of his advisors to give Amb. Quinn a recording. The tape detailed a possible attempt on the Prime Minister’s children, who were at the time studying in the United States. Amb. Quinn reaches out to law enforcement near Hun Sen’s children to have them protected. The Prime Minister is extremely grateful for Amb. Quinn taking the time to help him. This early interaction begins a lengthy working relationship between the two.
