Virulent Hatred of Vietnam and All Outside Influences Shaped the Scope of the Khmer Rouge’s Rule

168/6/73

Noting the deep-seated hatred for Vietnam and all Vietnamese by the Pol Pot regime, Amb. Quinn describes how the Khmer Rouge forces pushed North Vietnamese military units out of Cambodia as well as itinerant Vietnamese fisherman and settlers. The Khmer Rouge applied a harsh regimen on the Cambodian people as they spread their totalitarian rule across the entire country. In April 1975 they seized ultimate power.
