Ambassador Quinn writes two articles about his injured back and his journey through it. He begins these articles by writing about when he initially hurt his back in Vietnam in 1972 after having a sudden seizure in his living quarters. He goes on to talk about seeing a specialist in Iowa after being sent home "on loan" to work with Governor Ray, not thinking much would come from the appointment since he believed he had already tried every remedy possible to heal his injury.
