The Sertoma Club of Des Moines presented this award to Ambassador Quinn for his significant service to mankind, both in his diplomatic career and in leading the World Food Prize Foundation. His efforts on behalf of refugees and the victims of genocide while a Foreign Service Officer and then in combatting hunger and malnutrition while working with Dr. Norman Borlaug were cited as the basis for this recognition.
