Presenting the WFP Borlaug Medallion to APLU in 2012

Ambassador Kenneth Quinn, President of the World Food Prize Foundation, created the Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Medallion as a special award to be presented to international leaders and institutions that would not qualify for consideration for the World Food Prize itself. In 2012, Ambassador Quinn presented the Borlaug Medallion to the Association of Land-Grant and Public Universities (APLU). The President of the APLU, Peter McPherson, accepted the award. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and 2009 World Food Prize Laureate Dr. Gebisa Ejeta participated in the event.
