In October 2019, Day 2 of the Borlaug Dialogue International Symposium featured a special Presidential Panel and the launch of the first Borlaug-Adesina Fellows. Ambassador Quinn welcomed H.E. President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, to deliver the keynote address. Also joining the panel was H.E. Olesugen Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria and former member of the World Food Prize Council of Advisors. The event had been organized by 2017 World Food Prize Laureate Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank. Dr. Adesina had donated his entire $250,000 World Food Prize award to launching a program to encourage young African Agri-prenuers. Known as Borlaug-Adesina Fellows, the first 10 recipients were introduced on the stage of the Borlaug Dialogue. The event also featured an interview of Dr. Adesina by his very good friend Ambassador Quinn.
